We Can Place a Crown in One Visit

same day crowns

We have a number of options for restoring damaged or decayed teeth, such as a dental crown. In the past, receiving one of these custom restorations mean between two and three visits. However, using advanced technology we now create and place them for our Kansas City, MO, patients in a single visit. How do we create same day dental crowns?

When Do We Prescribe One?

A dental crown is a restoration that covers the tooth’s visible portions. Once in place, they completely change the tooth’s appearance, addressing a variety of cosmetic and restorative concerns. We’ve placed them to repair cracks or chip, or to lengthen worn down teeth. They help treat advanced cases of decay or infection, while also filling gaps between teeth. For those with missing teeth, we’ve placed them to anchor a dental bridge or to complete a single tooth dental implant, providing a lifelike dental repair.

Creating Your Restoration

Each one is custom-made to ensure a comfortable fit. We begin the same day process by preparing the teeth. We remove a small amount of surface structure and take detailed digital impressions. We load these images into a computer and design a 3D model, which digital imaging technology uses to design and fabricate it from solid ceramic. Once complete, we will place it, repairing your tooth in one visit. You will leave the same visit with a healthier smile and repair that blends with your smile seamlessly.

Keeping Your Restoration Strong

We use ceramic to create them for a number of reasons. First, the material contains stain-resistant properties and can be shaded to match the rest of your smile. They look natural while also providing strong and durable repair. But how do you ensure your new crown lasts for many years to come? Routine care helps protect your restoration from serious oral health concerns. You should brush your teeth twice daily for two minutes. Be sure you use a toothpaste containing fluoride! You also need to floss nightly before going to bed. In order to remove plaque buildup that could threaten your crown, we suggest seeing us every six months for a checkup and cleaning. We will monitor your oral health while also removing the buildup from your teeth.
