  1. Distillery Tours: Enjoy a Distillery tour this weekend at Tom’s Town Distilling Company on 1701 Main Street. Admission is $10 per person and last about 45 minutes. Enjoy samples, a history of the distillery since prohibition, and more. So much history (and did we already mention the samples?).
  2. Beauty of the Game: The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum will have a special exhibit on the story of Effa Manley, who owned the Newark Eagles from 1935 until 1946. She was the first women nominated and inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame! The museum is located at 1616 East 18th Street. Learn more about a true American legend in the annals of baseball history.
  3. Arabia Steamboat Museum: See the over 20 tons of treasure recovered from the sunken steamboat Arabia! Tours begin every 30 minutes. The museum is open from 10am until 5pm on Saturday and noon until 5pm on Sunday. The museum is located at 400 Grand Avenue. Learn about Kansas City history and the era of the steamboat!
  4. Airplanes: Check out a truly unique exhibit. Prisoners created paper airplanes, from notebooks, commissary lists, denied paroles, and other unexpected and heartbreaking sources. Artist Benjamin Todd Willis then created a display of these planes. The exhibit can be viewed at the Kansas City Public Library on 14 West 10th Street. You can also view a life size depiction of a solitary confinement cell constructed from prisoner drawings and recollections.
